How EASHL Player Grades Work
ChelScan combines official EA NHL career totals with one transparent role-aware grade for every EASHL player. The same grade follows a player through rankings, scans, Finder cards, profiles and their dossier.
Where the statistics come from
Upload an EASHL lobby screenshot and ChelScan reads every gamertag. For each detected player, it pulls EA NHL Pro Clubs career totals, including games by position, production, plus/minus, physical play, defensive actions and goalie splits when EA makes those fields available.
EA supplies the raw career statistics. ChelScan normalizes and stores them, calculates ratings and percentiles, and preserves one result per UTC day.
One grade everywhere
ChelScan infers the player's main role from EA games by position, calculates the corresponding 0–100 role score, then maps it to A+ through F. That letter is the player's official ChelScan grade everywhere the player appears.
A player needs at least 20 career games to enter the overall ranking. This minimum reduces the effect of very small samples.
Ratings by role
Each eligible player receives a score from 0 to 100 using the role where EA records the most games:
- Forward: points/game 40%, goals/game 20%, plus/minus/game 20%, takeaway balance 10%, hits/game 10%.
- Defense: plus/minus/game 20%, takeaways + interceptions 20%, blocks/game 20%, points/game 10%, puck security 15%, hits/game 15%.
- Goalie: save percentage 60%, goals-against average 30%, shutouts/game 10%.
Every input becomes a 0–100 component score, then is multiplied by its displayed weight. If EA omits an optional field, that component receives a neutral 50 rather than zero and is marked unavailable. A player needs at least 10 games in that role to enter its positional ranking.
Community percentile and daily history
ChelScan compares a player only with eligible players in the same role. “Better than 87%” means 87% of that day's population had a lower role score. Equal scores receive the same percentile.
The population size, score, percentile and components are saved during the daily ranking rebuild. Previous days are retained, allowing the dossier to chart rating and percentile evolution as the player and community change, including rating changes over 7, 30 and 90 days once enough history exists.

Why it matters
The grade summarizes how a player performs at their job using their EA career totals. Showing every component and the daily population makes that comparison auditable.
