How ChelScan Calculates World of Chel Player Rankings

ChelScan grades every World of Chel player from A+ down to F using their real EA NHL stats — no guesswork, no manual entry. Snap a lobby screenshot and the scouting report is instant.

What ChelScan scans

Upload a single World of Chel lobby screenshot and ChelScan reads every gamertag on screen. For each detected player, it pulls the live EA NHL Pro Clubs stats — games played, points, plus/minus, hits, position splits — and uses them to compute a ranking.

How the player grade is calculated

The primary signal is plus/minus per game: the average number of goals a player is on the ice for, minus the goals against, across their whole career. It captures both offense and defense in one number and is much more stable than raw goal totals.

ChelScan divides career plus/minus by games played and maps the result onto the A+ → F rubric below. Points per game (PPG) and hits per game are shown alongside the grade so you can see what kind of player is behind the letter.

A+ to F grade rubric

Plus/minus per game
GradeRangeMeaning
A+≥ +3.00 / gameElite. Dominant plus/minus per game.
A+2.00 to +2.99Excellent. Consistently drives play.
B+0.75 to +1.99Strong. Reliable positive impact.
C0.00 to +0.74Break-even. Solid depth piece.
D-0.01 to -0.75Below average. Bleeds a few goals.
E-0.76 to -1.50Poor. Frequent net-negative shifts.
F< -1.50 / gameLiability. Consistently on for goals against.

Players with very few games played are ranked lowest until they have a real sample size — a single lucky game shouldn't hand out an A+.

Why it matters

Before puck drop you can spot ringers, coordinate matchups, and figure out which opponent is actually dangerous. After the game you can look back at the lobby and see who dragged their team.
